My flower pots are outside on my patio.

What can i do to keep stray cats from using the bathroom in my flower pots?
Keep them out of the bathroom.
Reply:plastic bottles full of water:

my gran uses this all the time!! it is 1 of the great ways to keep cats away!!

Orange peels: if u put these down it wil be sure to keep them away!!

or you can put holly leaves around the pots!!

but i would say that the last resort would have to get pest control in. it will be quite pricy but they gt the job done nice and fast!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Moth balls or black pepper.
Reply:I told the neighbors to keep their stray cats out of my flower pots. Before it was over, I made them drag their stray kittens out of my garage. Finally I told them to go away and not come back. They're still over there, but they stay far away from me, and they have no cats. No more problem.
Reply:Try mothballs. They worked for my "cats on the car" issue. Hope this helps!
Reply:My Mom put red pepper in her plants to keep the cats and squirrels out. Last I heard, it worked.
Reply:Cats hate any kind of citrus smell so oranges lemons etc. Just put the peels in them
Reply:Mothballs are toxic to cats. What you could try is to put down a layer of stones (some nice decorative ones would be aestetically pleasing too), about an inch, and it prevents the cats from reaching the soil to "go".

If the pots are larger, use pine cones, works a charm.
Reply:shoot them
Reply:Sprinkle some black ground pepper on the flower pots.
Reply:Put a couple of moth balls in each pot until she gets the idea.

The cat will hate the smell and will stay away.

Reply:I use sea shells. they work great
Reply:I have 9 cats. To keep them from using my big potted plants as a litterbox, I place mulch in the potted plant, then sprinkle powdered cayenne pepper on the mulch. The pepper packs a powerful blast of heat that will not harm pets or plants, even if it is washed into the soil.
Reply:maybe put foil around the base of the plants?that way its an unpleasant thing to step on...I agree with the moth balls..that was my first idea..if you do the foil, just remove it in a week or 2 when they cut the habit out
Reply:apparently orange peels are meant to keep cats away
