How do I plant a flower or a plant in a pot or in the ground?

Make sure you start with a good soil compound. Dig a hole and place the plant 1/3 lower than ground and cover with soil.

If you are transplanting from pots, make sure you do it in the late evening so that the plant don't suffer from the sun or get shocked.

Water around the base of the plant.

Well, if you want to do it right, you'll need to do a bit of research. Different plants like different light conditions (shade, partial shade, partial sun, full sun). Some like a light loamy soil (very crumbly), others like a denser soil. Some like sandy soil. Some like soil that's more acidic while others do better in an alkaline soil.

So... what kind of plant is it?
Reply:Need more information to answer the question.

Where do you live, what kind of plant, etc....
Reply:Depends on the plant. I have had some plants that did not like being removed from the pot and also some plants that did better in the yard.
Reply:bury the roots in dirt and give er a drink I'd suppose
