Will Clownfish host Flower Pot Coral?
they might. the will host really any soft coral. it takes sometimes up to a month...but if they havent hosted it shortly after that...they probably never will
Reply:It may, but that would not be good for the Flower Pot. They are one of the more difficult corals to keep, so the added stress of a Clown hosting it could be a recipe for disaster. I recommend doing some research on anemones, and see which one suites your Clownfish, your aquarium set up, and your husbandry skills. Clowns have been known to host a number of different corals, but it's best to match them with their natural host whenever possible. Check out the link below for more information on anemones.
Reply:It's entirely up to the clown in question. I have a cinnamon clown who guards and sleeps in a large clump of star polyps of all things. I bought a torch coral thinking she might like it after she loved a bubble coral to near death, but no. She never touched the torch. She's happy with her star polyps.

There is no guarantee that your clown with use anything you selectively pick out as a host just as there is no guarantee that a clown will even take a host. If you're interested in keeping the coral, go for it and maybe the clown will take it up as her own and maybe she won't. You won't know without trying.
